Welcome to The Rummer Hotel

The Rummer Hotel occupies a listed building in Bristol's Old City Quarter. We are an independent bar and restaurant with a passion for quality. Our kitchen produces some of the best food to be found in central Bristol, if the critics are to be believed, and our bar holds over 400 premium spirits from around the globe. It’s the largest collection in the region.

An inn has stood on this site from the 1200s, and after being rebuit in 1742, has played host to many historic events, including being the destination of the first stagecoach from London.

After being neglected for years, The Rummer Hotel was refurbished in 2005 and now boasts a classic stylish interior. The main entrance has been restored to All Saints Lane, and the Cellars converted back to an intimate venue, and private dining room.

We are open every day, with our Head Chef, Greg McHugh, serving modern British food on his lunch and evening menus. Our bar is open until midnight during the week and 1am on the weekends.

Stop The Beer Duty Escalator Petition

Submitted by El Jefe on Fri, 04/13/2012 - 20:37

The petition, started by Hobgoblin has reached over 28000 signatures, and aims to force a debate in the House of Commons.
Every year, the beer tax escalator increases the tax on beer by 2% above the rate of inflation, thus adding considerably more pressure on the British pub, and local brewers, the cornerstone of many of our communities. Removing the beer duty escalator at the next budget will help keep beer more affordable and go a long way to supporting the institution that is – the great British pub.
