Valentine's Day 2012
This valentines day, we will be running a special set menu alongside our A La Carte menu.
The Rummer Hotel occupies a listed building in Bristol's Old City Quarter. We are an independent bar and restaurant with a passion for quality. Our kitchen produces some of the best food to be found in central Bristol, if the critics are to be believed, and our bar holds over 400 premium spirits from around the globe. It’s the largest collection in the region.
An inn has stood on this site from the 1200s, and after being rebuit in 1742, has played host to many historic events, including being the destination of the first stagecoach from London.
After being neglected for years, The Rummer Hotel was refurbished in 2005 and now boasts a classic stylish interior. The main entrance has been restored to All Saints Lane, and the Cellars converted back to an intimate venue, and private dining room.
We are open every day, with our Head Chef, Greg McHugh, serving modern British food on his lunch and evening menus. Our bar is open until midnight during the week and 1am on the weekends.

For the launch of Diplomatico's new and exclusive Ambassador Selection Rum, we will be hosting a dinner and tasting on the 21st November 2011. It promises to be a very special event, with Head Chef Greg McHugh pulling out all the stops for the final event in our 2011 culinary calendar.
In 1919 as the United States was attempting to recover from World War I, many farmers needed additional income to support their large families and make their farm payments. In response to this need for revenue, a group of crafty farmers in a small town by the name of Templeton, Iowa began to brew and distil their own form of rye whiskey, which they aptly named Templeton Rye.
Simon has been on our management team for 5 years, and this week we have to say goodbye to him, as he sets sail on his travels to the east.
We would like to thamk him for all his hard work, and wish him well in his endeavours.
